This morning at 5:08a.m, eight units from the Tallahassee Fire Department responded to a residential fire on Carnwath Road. Firefighters faced heavy smoke and fire conditions while battling the blaze. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire and the owner reported having the utility service restored to the home last night. Fire investigators believe the switch to the food disposal was on when the power was restored and was the cause of the fire.

No injuries were reported during the incident. Damages are estimated at $100,000.
