Tallahassee Memorial HealchCare announced an affiliation with UF & Shands: the university of Florida's academic health center. The partnership is designed to expand Cancer care for patients in the Big Bend region. Both TMH and UF & Shands will now share their expertise to help improve patient care.
"This will just strengthen our ability to collaborate and continue to proivde state of the art care through this collaboration and certainly hope and feel that the majority of that care will be able to be provided right here in our cancer center," said Dr. Tim Broeseker, a Medical Oncologist at Tallahassee Memorial Cancer Center.
The affiliation also provides better coordination and communication between medical teams if a patient needed to travel from TMH to Gainesville for special treatment.
