TPD Crime Reports: September 26, 2013

Please note: Many of the cases posted are considered “open” and are currently being investigated by TPD. Because of this, the information contained in these posts will be limited in nature as TPD’s top priority is for a timely resolution of the cases and to bring closure for those involved.

Retail Theft / 3479 Thomasville Rd / 9:39 a.m.
The arrestee went into the CVS and stole a half-gallon of milk and drank it in the bathroom before running out the door. A short time later the same arrestee ate food at the Waffle House across the street and fled without paying. He was located a short distance away and taken to custody. A small amount of Marijuana was also found on his person.

Residential Burglary, Grand Theft of Firearm, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Discharging Firearm in Public - 2924 Miccosukee Rd / 3:29 pm
Homeowner arrived home and observed two suspects burglarizing his apartment. The suspects fled on foot and the homeowner gave chase, but he could not keep up with the suspects. A couple of minutes later, the homeowner pulled out a firearm and fired eight rounds up into the air out of anger. The shooting was observed by an apartment complex worker. The firearm was found to have been stolen.

Suspects Burglary - 2 B/M’s 18 -20 years old

Auto Burglary - 378 Hayden Rd. / 3:51 pm
Victim parked her vehicle in front of her residence last night. When she returned to her vehicle at 7:30 am she discovered numerous items missing from the vehicle.

Repossession/Tow Dispute - 2020 W. Pensacola St. / 6:59 pm
Tow truck driver called to complain that a subject refused to exit a vehicle to allow him to repossess it. Upon officer’s arrival the vehicle owner was inside of the vehicle with the vehicle hooked up to the tow truck and lifted. The tow truck was hooked to the vehicle, blocking the access lane to adjacent businesses and "guest" parking for Student Housing Solutions (SHS), the owner of the shopping center. The owner refused to exit her vehicle. As the disturbance continued SHS owner made contact with officers and aked for his "guest" parking area be cleared and the tow driver be trespassed from his shopping center.The tow truck driver unhooked the vehicle and left the property.

Possession of Cannabis, Drug Paraphernalia – Robinson’s Grocery / 2021 Holton St. / 8:12 pm
Officer D. Miller observed Johnson sitting in the rear of the store inside her vehicle. Citizen contact was made and cannabis was observed in plain view. Search incident to arrest revealed more cannabis inside suspect’s hand and in the passenger seat.
