TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Baby on board! When you buy a car seat, it comes with an easy to follow instruction manual...easy, for some. And sometimes, we just need that expert set of eyes to check our work.
The Tallahassee Police Department has you covered. On Friday, they held a safety checkpoint, where you could come and see if your car seat is installed properly to take care of your most precious cargo.
SGT Derek Friend of TPD says, "These things are very complicated now. It's not just a simple device that you can plop in the seat and drive on. There are very specific ways they have to be latched and attached in the car."
Expectant mom, Scherri Bryant came to get an inspection. "As a first-time, new, expecting mom, it's extremely important [to get a child safety seat inspection]. You just wanna make sure that you have ample time to get everything taken care of."
This was also the third and final state of certification for some new child safety seat inspectors.
