TPD Partners with Workforce Plus to Rid Town of Graffiti

Tallahassee, FL - There's a new push to get rid of graffiti in Florida's capital city.

This morning Tallahassee Police and Workforce plus announced their new partnership.

Young people involved in a workforce plus program will be paid to paint over graffiti in the city.

For up to 20 hours each month they'll be paid eight dollars an hour.

Up until now it's been in the hands of officers.

Martika Howard, Painting over Graffiti, "it's a different look and it gives people hope that there's not just mess written everywhere.'

Martika and two other people will in charge of the makeover.
Four thousand dollars of money seized from other cases will be used to fund the program.

Walmart and Leon County have donated the paint.
