The Havana Police Chief says his officers have been called to this home several times in the past, but this time it was deadly. Police say the man shot and killed his girlfriend, tried to shoot an officer, then shot and killed himself.
It was an emotional scene Wednesday morning. Havana Police say 66-year-old Marzell Mann shot and killed his live-in girlfriend, 51-year-old Rosa Jackson, then killed himself.
Neighbor Filmore Wester says, "All I heard was gunshots about a little after 11:00 and then again before day."
Police say they were called to the home at 304 3rd Street S.E. around 6:30 Wednesday morning.
Police say when an officer arrived, Mann was on the porch and shot at him. Then Mann went inside the home and barricaded himself.
The Tallahassee Police TAC Team was called in... and after about an hour...police say they went inside and saw that Jackson was dead...and that Mann had also shot and killed himself.
Havana Police Chief Glynn Beach says, "We've responded numerous times in the past. Both individuals were heavy drinkers. That does lead into problems eventually. I don't know if that was a factor, but, it could've been."
Neighbor Sarah Glenn says she had plans to hang out with the couple later in the day. "It's still hard to even believe it right now even though I see it. It's just like watching a movie. It's a terrible thing to happened. S3 I won't be hearing her voice anymore."
The investigation is still ongoing. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement was called in as an additional resource.

Authorities say a Gadsden County man shot and killed his girlfriend. After an hour-long standoff, police say the man then killed himself.
Eyewitness News been out here on the scene since 8:45 this morning. By that time, an ambulance and the Tallahassee Police Department TAC Team were packing up and leaving. Police say the man and woman who lived here were both dead. Police say the man shot himself after shooting at a police officer and barricading himself inside the home.
The Havana Police Chief told me that they got a 911 call around 6:30 this morning that the man had shot the woman. He says when an officer pulled up to the house, the man was standing on the porch, and the man starting shooting at the officer. The officer was not hurt.
The chief says the man went back inside, and that's when they had to call TPD, and the Gadsden and Leon County Sheriff's Offices for back-up. The chief says once they were able to get inside the home an hour and a half later, they discovered the woman was dead and that the man had also shot and killed himself.
Police have not released any identities, but the chief says the man was about 66-years-old and that the woman was a live-in girlfriend. The chief says she was 61-years-old.
A few neighbors told me that they heard gunshots around 11:00 last night. They believe that is when the woman was shot and killed.
