Tallahassee, FL - A Tallahassee attorney is continuing to break barriers.
John Eagen can be seen in court just about every day with his guide dog, Willie. The defense attorney has just been certified to represent clients who are facing the death penalty.
Eagan is the first blind attorney in this circuit to earn that designation, and he believes he is the first blind attorney in Florida to do so.
John Eagen, Defense Attorney: "In some sense I'm inspiring others. If they see me do it, they can at least try. That's the goal."
Eagen is a Florida State University law school graduate. He has been in practice for 23 years.
