Tallahassee Fire Chief Retiring with a Bang

Tallahassee, FL - At a ceremony Monday, the Tallahassee Fire Chief, Cindy Dick, was awarded fire chief of the year at the fire service awards.

Each year, the governor and cabinet honor the service and sacrifice made by fire service professionals.

It was held at the state capitol building on the top floor.

"We appreciate being recognized by our peers and that's wonderful. We're really ambassadors for the fire service and it's great to have the cabinet stop for a second and think about the fire service and it's importance to our communities everywhere," said Chief Cindy Dick.

Dick plans to officially leave office in July. She looks forward to spending more time with her son and mother.
