Tallahassee Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire

At 4:34 am, units from the Tallahassee Fire Department received a call of a building fire at Benjamin Chaires Rd and Capitola. Units from station 12, 6, and 1 responded to the two story residential building. Firefighters were met with heavy smoke and fire and started their attack on the fully involved structure. No occupants were in the building at the time. The structure is considered a full loss with an estimated value of $75,000. No injuries were reported on the scene.

The call came in from a passerby who could see the flames from the road. LCSO and LCEMS were also on scene to assist where needed. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
