"As soon as you get it painted you turn around the next night and it is covered again" said Kathryn Willis.

West Tennessee Street at the corner of Magnolia Drive., seems to be a new hot spot in Tallahassee for graffiti.

Some businesses in the area respond to the graffiti as more than just spray paint.

"I worry about gang related really you know and maybe danger, I don’t hear too many people say anything about it but I know how I feel about it and it scares me," Willis said.

There are more than ten business, vacant buildings and walls that have been spray painted. Most people in the area say when their buildings gets painted they just cover it up.

Mickey Abrahams said although graffiti is vandalism there are some cities that allow kids to spray paint buildings so they look like a work of art.

"I do think there is some kind of merit and interesting aspects to purposely hire high school kids that are good at it to make it look like a finished piece of art work, because it actually is cool artwork when it’s not being used as vandalism or weird gang signs or stuff like that" Abrahams said.

The Tallahassee Police Department says graffiti is a year round problem that is not welcome in the city.

If you see graffiti, report it on talgov.com under the Graffit Abatement Program tab.
