The city of Tallahassee is now the first Purple Heart capital city.
Today StarMetro unveiled a new bus showcasing twelve local Purple Heart recipients. The twelve were chosen by Tallahassee Chapter 758 military order of the Purple Heart.
Organizers say this bus is a way to constantly remind people that their work for America is not in vain.
In honor of Purple Heart veterans StarMetro is offering everyone free rides along their regular routes.
Ivan Maldonado, Director of StarMetro, said "We are very honored to recognize, our veterans. Me being a veteran myself I really rejoice anytime we recognize service men and women and those who previously served."
For the rest of the month the bus will be stationed at multiple locations.
