Lions, tigers, bears oh my, however, this isn’t quite what you see on the trails of Tallahassee but close.
On National Trails Day, Apalachicola River Blueway was one of the 21 nationally recognized trail designations. It was the only trail chosen from the state of Florida. Florida has thousands of trails throughout the state, for walkers, bikers and even horseback riders.
According to the office of greenway trails, a trail is the number one thing a homeowner wants close, when looking for a place to live.
"Trails are really a vital part of Florida’s tourism economy, which is how we make our money and how we help our local business. We have ten state trails managed by the parks services, and they bring in almost two hundred million dollars in direct spending to the economy which is pretty significant."
If you want to learn more about the parks and trails in and around Tallahassee, tonight at 7pm, the Florida Trail Association will be hosting a free information session at the Northwood Center.
