Tallahassee Lenders' Consortium Homebuyers Fundraiser

The house on Tree Leaf Lane was quiet Monday morning following a Saturday night party that resulted in gun fight and the death of Rockdale County High School senior Dequavious Mapp. Three men were arrested in connnection with the shooting. The homeowner, Jeavoye A. Jones, received a $1,000 bond for his charge of keeping a disorderly house. Tevin Aqwunray Williams, 17, and James Wansley Edwards, 17, faced weapons charges and have a bond hearing scheduled for Wednesday.

The Tallahassee Lenders' Consortium held its first pre-homebuyers charity showcase fundraiser Thursday night.

Attendees chose from an array of items to bid on in a silent auction and bought raffle tickets.

WCTV Anchor Lauren Searcy hosts the event with proceeds going to support the 2011 homebuyers showcase, March 12th.

Anthony Davis of TLC says, "It's important to let the people in our community be aware of home ownership. Everyone desires to achieve that American dream and the Tallahassee Lenders' Consortium is an organization that really works to helps our people in the community to obtain that dream of home ownership."

The Tallahassee Lenders' Consortium is an organization that educates first time homebuyers on the do's and dont's when purchasing a home.
