CHAMBLEE, Ga. (AP) -- A teen who was arrested for carrying loaded guns near a high school in suburban Atlanta told police he stole the weapons during a burglary and was trying to sell them.
Chamblee City Manager Marc Johnson says the 16-year-old boy had been suspended from Chamblee Charter High School and was arrested without incident Tuesday. Johnson says the teen was carrying two guns and had more weapons stored in duffel bags that he left near the school's stadium.
Johnson says investigators don't think the teen was planning to use the guns inside the school. DeKalb County Schools spokesman Quinn Hudson says no injuries were reported an after-school activities were canceled.
Police have not released the teen's identity.
Chamblee is about 12 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.
