Three Arrested in Counterfeit Money Investigation

Valdosta, GA - The Lowndes County Sheriff Office reported that the department recently received information that local Valdosta residents were manufacturing counterfeit money.

With the assistance of the United States Secret Service, investigators with the Special Operations Division of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of the residence on Wednesday, October 3 which led to the recovery of copy machine and a printer with currency templates on them.

Also found during the search were paper trimmers, remnants of counterfeit currency and a quantity of marijuana.

Arrested in connection with the search was Jonathan Scott Moody. He was transported to the Lowndes County Jail and appeared for an arraignment hearing on Thursday.

No bond has been set as of yet. On Thursday, investigators arrested two additional persons who have been connected to the production of the counterfeit currency. Allison Cockman and Elissa Moody were both arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Jail and will have an arraignment hearing this afternoon where a bond will be considered.
