News Release: City of Thomasville

On Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at approximately 12:00 noon, officers were dispatched to 103 South Dawson St. (Milton YMCA) in reference to suspicious males looking in vehicles parked in the parking lot.

Upon arrival, the officers were met by a YMCA staff member, who stated that several citizens had reported the males looking into vehicles and trying to open doors. The employee described a silver BMW as being the vehicle the two males were seen leaving the area in.

A lookout was given to other law enforcement officers and agencies for the stolen vehicle.

An officer spotted the vehicle in the parking lot of another business in the 2000 block of East Pinetree Blvd. As the officer approached the vehicle and asked for driver's licenses and identification of all the occupants, the driver sped away from the scene very recklessly.

Officers again began to look for the vehicle in the area.

Citizens in the area pointed out to officers that two suspects from the vehicle had fled behind 2004 Hwy 122.

Officers then located the vehicle behind the business as well as items they had dropped in the woods and on a fence.

Three males, Derriane Antwaune Woods, Deven Bryan Gresham, Antuan Dangelo Trowell, were apprehended and each has been charged with 2 counts of entering auto. Trowell, the driver of the vehicle, was also charged with multiple traffic offenses including aggressive driving, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, disobeying traffic control devices (stop sign), and safety theft violation for 18 yrs of age and older.

Thomasville Police say these suspects were apprehended thanks to all the witnesses that helped point officers in the right direction.
