Thursday Weather

Wednesday evening was pretty busy across North Florida and South Georgia. A line of severe thunderstorms moved through the area providing some rainfall and gusty winds. The majority of severe weather close to home was wind related. The National Weather Service reported a 54 MPH wind gust on the campus of Florida State University.

Behind the cold front comes cooler and drier weather. Thursday afternoon will feature plenty of sunshine and some cool conditions. High temperatures will only reach the upper 50s. Winds will begin to calm down through the afternoon.

Temperatures overnight will drop to the lower 30s. A freeze watch has been issued for the entire area, except the immediate coast line, until Friday morning. This watch may be upgraded to a warning for areas east of Tallahassee later today.

Clear skies and calm winds will lead to very cold weather Saturday morning. Lows will fall to the mid and upper 20s. Saturday morning looks to feature the coldest weather of the season.
