Valdosta, GA - According to the Tifton Police Department, 22 year old Jessie James Harris II was shot and killed in his Timmons Drive home around 11pm Monday night.

Police say when they arrived, Harris was laying right inside the front door with a single gun shot wound to the upper body.

The evidence appears that our victim answered a knock at the door, and was subsequently shot there at the door", says Lt. Lee Dunston.

Neighbors say they believe there's more to the story.

T-P-D says Harris' 4 year-old son was the only other person at the house during the shooting. They say has asleep during the crime, and was not injured. But who killed Jessie Harris and why?

"I've seen everything from a target killing; where the person they succeeded in shooting was, what whey intended to do when they went there. But, based on just what I saw at the scene, I can't rule out the fact that possibly somebody was going to do some sort of robbery or something", says Lt. Dunston.

Lt. Dunston says TPD has been canvassing the area and have been talking to friends and family, but have no suspects, no eyewitnesses, and no surveillance video.
