The attorney for Trayvon Martin's family spoke out Sunday (3-25-12) at a Tallahassee church.
"This young man could have been anyone's son. White. Black. Protestant. Jewish. It doesn't matter. This is why you see the White Community, the Black Community, Republicans, Democrats all saying this is wrong, let's get to the bottom of this," says Rev. R.B. Holmes Bethel Missionary Baptist Church
It's a story that's not only gained attention nationally, but across the globe. Before a packed house, Benjamin Crump, the attorney for Trayvon Martin's family, spoke in front of the congregation at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. .
"His mother cries daily that this nightmare will be over and her son will come back to her," says Crump.
The 17-year-old Martin was shot and killed last month by neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman. .Zimmerman says he did so in self-defense. But police say Martin was unarmed. To date, no arrests have been made.
"This is day 30. How long will it take before George Zimmerman is arrested for killing Trayvon Martin, unarmed with a bag of skittles," says Crump.
A rally is set for Monday (3-25-12) in Sanford. Crump expects nearly 40,000 people to show up in support of Martin.
