Two Arrested In Valdosta Burglaries

Lowndes County Sheriff's Office Release

Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office have recently been investigating incidents of burglary that occurred at homes on Briggston Road and Johnson Road South. In both cases the home owner had recently moved and left items, such as appliances, children’s toys, yard tools and other items, behind with the intent of returning later and retrieving them. Once the homeowner had left, persons would burglarize the home.

After taking items, many were posted for sale on social media. Investigators developed information and were able to locate some of the stolen property after it had been sold to unsuspecting persons. Thus far, investigators have recovered appliances, tools, stereo and television equipment and other miscellaneous items. The true owner of some of the recovered items has not yet been identified.

Christopher Pollette and Emanuel Trevino-Vazquez have been arrested and charged with multiple counts of burglary in connection with this investigation and are currently in the Lowndes County Jail.

Sheriff Prine stated that while the vast majority of purchases made on-line or from a social media site are legitimate, buyers should be cautious making sure that they receive a bill-of-sale and the sellers correct contact information such as a telephone number.

Sheriff Prine stressed that this investigation is on-going and investigators are working to locate additional property that was stolen. If anyone has recently purchased items from Pollette or Trevino-Vazaquez they are encouraged to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at {229} 671-2950.
