-Press Release From The City Of Thomasville-

The City of Thomasville will be hosting a two-part Homebuyer Workshop on July 23 and 25, from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Housing and Resource Center, 125 Lester Street.

The workshop is free and open to all prospective homebuyers. The free workshop will provide information on various resources and programs that are available to prospective homeowners, such as Georgia Dream first mortgages and down payment assistance, USDA Rural Development mortgage loans, and Habitat for Humanity homes.

Representatives from these programs will also be onsite to answer questions. Homeownership may seem like a lofty quest to first-time buyers, but City of Thomasville Housing Administrator Charlotte Christian says that there is help available.

“Homeownership is available to most people, but the process requires both knowledge and preparation. This workshop will give anyone who is interested in purchasing a home a working knowledge of the processes that are involved and the tools they need to confidently move forward with purchasing a home,” Christian said.

“Also, certain loan programs, such as Georgia Dream and USDA Rural Development and Habitat for Humanity, require workshop attendance,”

she added. Pre-registration is required and must be done before 5:00 p.m. Monday, July 22.

To register for the workshop or for more information, contact Charlotte at 229-227-3368 or Child care will not be provided.
