Two Teenagers Are Dead After Crashing Car Into a Tree

Moultrie, Georgia---September 23, 2012

Two teenagers are dead after crashing a car into a tree.

According to Georgia State Patrol Corporal Jeromy Roberts, the crash happened Saturday afternoon around 1:30 in Colquitt County.

Mary Holt Statom and Madison Sumner, both 16 years-old from Moultrie, were driving along Old Berlin Road when they misjudged a curve in the road.

The driver lost control of the car and hit a tree, just east of Cook Road.

Both girls died on impact.
