Valdosta, GA - Authorities in Valdosta are investigating two separate business break-ins in the last few days.
In the first instance, someone broke into Lee Office Supply over the weekend. In the second, Duck Barnes Dry Cleaners was burglarized Monday. Employees at both businesses say expensive items that could have been stolen weren't. Sodas and cash were missing from Lee's, and a laptop and change were missing at Duck Barnes.
Police have an idea as to why the two businesses were targeted.
"The harder you make it for someone to break in to your business, the less likely they are to try your business. They are going to go to the next person, or the next business", says Lt. Aaron Kirk, with VPD.
VPD doesn't believe the burglaries are related. Investigations on both are still ongoing.
