Marianna, FL -- June 9, 2012
On June 9, 2012 officers of the Marianna Police Department received a burglary alarm located at the Smith and Smith Jewelry Store located on Lafayette Street in Marianna, Florida. As officers converged on the jewelry store, officers observed two suspects identified as Anthony Shakir Candelaria Jr. and Lee Jennings Tharp exiting an alley way that leads to a courtyard at the rear of the jewelry store. Officers apprehended Candelaria Jr. and Tharp as they attempted to leave the area on foot. Both Candelaria and Tharp were arrested for attempted burglary and loitering. Both subjects were transported to the Jackson County Jail Facility and turned over to the correction staff awaiting first appearance.
