Trenton, FL (AP) - Two north Florida state prison guards are
facing felony charges in the collapse of an inmate allegedly
ordered to exercise in 86-degree weather without adequate water
On Tuesday, 41-year-old James Barry, of Bell, and 44-year-old
Michael Devanie, of Trenton, turned themselves in and were released
on their own recognizance.
Both are charged with malicious battery or cruel or inhuman
treatment. They could face up to five years in prison if convicted.
Barry also is charged with witness tampering, which has a 15-year
