Valdosta, GA - General Mark Welsh III is the Air Force's top general. Friday he visited Moody to address 120 members of Leadership Georgia.

"This is your Air Force. We serve your interests. And we are awfully proud to do it", he says.

"He is a leader. He is not merely a general. He's not merely a Chief of Staff, but everything he does, every presentation that he makes, he exhibits the qualities of a true leader. Having this room have the opportunity to hear from him, to share the stories of the men and women of our Air Force, in such a way that makes it very emotional, very personal. He connected with his audience. I wanted them to see, and feel, and experience that", says Valdosta City Manager, Larry Hanson.

Welsh presented a message of leadership to his audience. He told stories of great leaders in the Air Force and how their lessons apply in civilian life.

"Leadership Georgia is a program with the intent of growing leaders around the State of Georgia. So to have the opportunity for 120 emerging and existing leaders of Georgia to hear from General Welsh on the United State's leadership suggestions is a great opportunity for many Georgian's today", says Gretchen Corbin, President of Leadership Georgia.

During his time in the Air Force, Welsh has been stationed at many bases across the country. One of those bases was Moody. He took the time to thank the Valdosta community for their continued support of the U.S. Air Force.
