VA Plans To Open Local Outpatient Health Clinic

Veterans in Southwest Georgia will soon have a new place to seek health care.

The Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Eric K. Shinseki, announced in a press release the new plans for a community-based veterans outpatient clinic to open in Tifton, Georgia.

The Tifton clinic will be one of 13 new clinics, opening in nine states.

It's part of an effort to provide health care closer to where veterans live.

The exact location of the Tifton clinic has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be open by 2013.
