VSU Kicks Off Black History Month with American Spiritual Ensemble

-- Valdosta, Ga. -- February 5, 2013 --

The college will be hosting a concert by the American Spiritual Ensemble. The Ensemble is currently on a twelve city tour. They've preformed around the world singing American and jazz inspired songs. VSU is also celebrating an important milestone in the college's history.

VSU Communications Director Thressea Boyd said "we're also very excited because this kicks off or begins really our thought process for fifty years of integration which will begin this fall and we've got several events, going to start planning for that and that will be a four to six month event."

The concert will be held Wednesday at 7PM in the Whitehead Auditorium on campus. It's free and open to the public.
