VSU Students Take The Pledge Against Domestic Violence

Updated: Tue 7:23 PM, Oct 23, 2012

Valdosta, GA - Dozens of students at Valdosta State University took the pledge Tuesday to stand against Domestic Violence.

It is of course National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. On the Pedestrian Mall they had men and women signing hand prints and posting them on a display board. Each represents a personal pledge to not stay silent.

"If you come upon a woman who is being beaten up by her husband, boyfriend, what have you, don't just walk by," said Dorothy Nickell, Secretary for VSU Women's & Gender Studies. "Take a stand, call the police, step in and see what you can do to help."

The Hand Print Project continues Wednesday and Thursday.
