Suspect Arrested In Valdosta Bank Robbery

On February 14, 2014 at approximately 09:40 am, the BB&T Bank located at 2901 North Ashley Street was robbed. No one was injured in the robbery. Surveillance photographs were released of the offender shortly after the robbery. Multiple tips came into the police department as to the identity of the offender. Detectives followed up on the tips and information and were able to identity Eric Bernard Davis, 28-year-old Valdosta resident as the offender.

Davis turned himself in to local authorities today at approximately 4:30 pm, and he is currently being held at the Lowndes County Jail awaiting further judicial proceedings. He has been charged with Robbery. Law enforcement personnel are still investigating this incident and have not ruled out the possibility of additional suspects.

Eric Bernard Davis, African American male, 28 years of age, Valdosta resident, has been identified and is wanted for the bank robbery at BB&T Bank on Friday, February 14th.

An arrest warrant for Robbery was signed against Davis yesterday after multiple tips were received from citizens who had identified him through the pictures sent to the media.

Detectives with the Valdosta Police Department followed up on the tips and positively identified Davis as the offender.

Davis has not been arrested yet, but authorities are actively looking for him. If anyone sees him they are encouraged to call 911.

The Valdosta Police Department appreciates the assistance from the FBI and the citizens in helping us solve this case so quickly.

Offender: African American male, wearing all dark clothing, zipped up hoodie, approximately 6 feet tall, thin build, approximately 25-30 years of age, carrying a tan in color satchel, last seen running on foot, north from the bank.

The Valdosta Police Department needs your help finding a man who robbed a bank this morning.

It happened around 10am at the BB&T on North Ashley Street.

Police say a man slipped the bank teller a note demanding money.

When the teller gave the robber an undisclosed amount of money, he took off on foot and was headed north.

News Release: Valdosta Police Department

On February 14, 2014 at 9:54 am, the Valdosta Police Department responded to BB&T Bank located at 2901 North Ashley Street regarding a robbery hold-up alarm. When officers and detectives arrived, they made contact with bank employees who advised an African American male entered the business and passed a note to one of the bank clerks. In the note the offender demanded money. The clerk provided the offender with an undisclosed amount of money and the offender fled the bank on foot, running north from the bank. No one was injured during the incident and crime scene investigators from the Valdosta/Lowndes Regional Crime Laboratory responded and processed the scene.
