Valdosta, GA - A restaurant owner who had just closed up for the night, was the target of a robbery Wednesday night.

It happened at El Toreo on Gornto Road in Valdosta. Police say the owner was walking to his car, two African American men approached him, one had a gun. The suspects told him to stop, but the victim told police he took off running and called 911.

"We believe he may have been targeted because he was leaving the business after hours. He did not recognize the suspects, and at this time we don't have any suspects", says Lt. Aaron Kirk with VPD.

Lt. Kirk says no one was hurt. He also says the Valdosta Police Department offers Business Escort Officers, who will ensure you get to your car safely if you are leaving a business late.
