Valdosta, GA - The Valdosta Fire Department has eight new members and six others are being promoted.
It's a graduation and promotion ceremony. The event was held at the Valdosta High School Performing Arts Center.
The eight new fire fighters are graduating from an eight-week recruitment school.
Those graduating from Recruit School are:
Heath Couch
Lloyd Cummings
Blake Daughtery
Jessica Ellerbee
Brian Garcia
Alvin Jones Jr.
Jamie Sapp
James Torrence
Those being promoted include the following:
Lieutenant Ronald Skrine will be promoted to Captain
Sergeant Jeff Thibodeau will be promoted to Lieutenant
Firefighter Michael Taylor will be promoted to Sergeant
Firefigher Shelly Miller will be promoted to Sergeant
Firefighter Morgan Hendley will be promoted to Sergeant
Firefighter Jason Walker will be promoted to Sergeant
