Valdosta Man Involved In Thanksgiving Day Crash Dies

The driver of the vehicle that was involved in a Thanksgiving Day, single-car crash in Valdosta has passed away.

40-year-old Malcom Bernard Chipp, a Valdosta resident, passed away over the weekend as a result of the injuries received in the automobile accident.

Mr. Chipp was transported to and treated at a hospital in Tallahassee, Florida.


A 40-year-old Valdosta resident was seriously injured when he ran a stop sign located at the intersection of Brookwood Place and north Troupe Street.

The vehicle traveled across a grass field last night, November 28, 2013, struck a utility pole, then struck a dirt embankment. It then continued through the back block wall of /a building located at 1405 North Lee Street.

The driver was the only person in the vehicle and no one else was injured. A helicopter took the driver to a Tallahassee hospital where he was last reported to be in critical condition.
