Valdosta, GA - The 23rd Annual "The Happening" brought VSU students face-to-face with local businesses and student organizations. Everything from banks, to churches, and even restaurants looking for part-time employees set up tents on the front lawn.
VSU says "The Happening" is a great way for students, especially Freshmen to find their way in Valdosta.
"Our students are a tremendous economic impact to this community. Not just by the money that they spend, but in the essence that they help many of the local businesses stay open. So having this day connects those students to those businesses", says Thressea Boyd, with VSU.
The University says several hundred vendors came out to this year's "The Happening." They say students look forward to the event every year, and this year may have seen their biggest turnout yet.
