Valentines Day Dance To Stop Violence Against Women.

Tallahassee, FL - The Oasis Center for Women and Girls as well as The Pace Center for Girls Leon held a Valentines Day Dance at the Kleman Plaza green space today. Men and women came out to honor and celebrate women by dancing for one hour. It was also to bring awareness to the One Billion Rising campaign to end violence against women. Tallahassee has been working to improve the workplace for women.

"One of the biggest things that happen city and county commissions has adopted policies specially to help victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in the workplace," said Robin Thompson, Commission on Status of Women and Girls Chair.

Rick Minor, Mayor Marks' Chief of Staff, was there to speak on behalf of Mayor Marks. Minor presented a Proclamation that February 14Th will be One Billion Strong Day in Tallahassee.
