Tallahassee, FL - The competition is on for the 2013 Tally Top Pet contest and WCTV News Anchor, Gina Pitisci and her dog, Greyson, are in the running this year. By participating in the contest and voting for your favorite pet you will help end pet overpopulation in our area and also be showing support for the animals in our community.

Be The Solution, Inc. uses funds raised from the Tally Top Pet contest to educate residents about the need for the spay/neuter surgery to prevent pet overpopulation and to finance the surgery for residents who cannot afford the surgery cost. The pet overpopulation problem is a direct result of animals being left un- spayed/neutered in our community.

Spaying and neutering these animals is the easiest and quickest way to "fix" the problem from the start and keep unwanted animals from entering our shelter. A portion of this year's funds raised will be donated to Pets Ad Litem to help support the animals in our local shelter.

The contest started on February 17th and ends on April 1st at midnight. The pet with the most votes wins and takes home the title of Tally's Top Pet, a $1,000 prize package and a ride on a Springtime Tallahassee Parade float.
