Tallahassee, FL-There's a new marketing campaign underway that's looking to come up with Tallahassee's Identity.
The grassroots group calling itself Imagine Tallahassee will be working to collect ideas from citizens to establish the community's identify and use that to target businesses.
The group is hiring the consulting firm, Wallace, Roberts and Todd.
They'll pay the firm between $200,000 and $250,000. The firm pervioulsy helped brand the city of Austin.
The group is raising the money to hire the firm through private donations.
The group is also working with Blue Print 2000. However, the collaboration is not expected to cost the city or county any money at this time.
"This is all about how do we bait the hook? To throw the hook in the water and hopefully reel in a big fish. And that big fish may be jobs to this area, something that helps our economy. That's what we are looking for," said Commissioner Scott Maddox.
The group says the campaign will start later this month.
It says by Janauary, it hopes to have established an identy for Tallahassee and begin marketing.
However, the collaboration is not expected to cost the city or county any money at this time.
A group of Tallahassee citizens is working to better brand Tallahassee.
So, what do you think defines Tallahassee? The colleges and universities? The state government? Its North Florida natural beauty?
