Tallahassee, FL - September 21, 2012

At last night’s ceremony, Leadership Tallahassee announced the 2012 winners of the Distinguished Leadership Awards, as well as honored the recipients of this year’s Lifetime Leadership Award.

"The Distinguished Leadership Awards is the premier leadership recognition event for this area. My committee and I are pleased with the support from the community in celebrating leaders who have stepped up to make Tallahassee better. We are also excited that the event was sold out, with proceeds going to our Youth Leadership Tallahassee program," Nan O'Kelley, Chair, Distinguished Leadership Awards.

The awards ceremony, now in its 18th year, serves as Leadership Tallahassee’s major community fundraiser, with proceeds benefitting the Youth Leadership Tallahassee program. Throughout the ceremony, deserving leaders were honored in each of the following four categories:

Mike Sheridan, FMBC Benefits Management Company

Leader of the Year: Awarded to an individual whose ideas, vision and hard work have achieved significant, tangible benefits to the community within the past year. This year’s winner is::
