Thomasville, GA -38-year-old Michael Lewis of Thomasville was arrested and charged with leaving the scene the accident that occurred July 29Th.

Authorities were called to Stewart Road on that night and found 38-year-old Jennifer Mims in critical condition.

James Martin says the accident happened just outside of his home. He didn't hear it happen he says, but he walked out there shortly after.

"All I know is every time she tried to breath, I could hear some gurgling sounds and blood coming out of her mouth and nose and everything else," said James as he saw Mims out front of his home.

Investigators say Lewis was driving a 1993 Ford Ranger during the incident. We're told Mims somehow exited the vehicle by falling or being pushed while it was going at approximately 45 miles per hour.
She was taken to Archbold Medical Center and died two day later.

Investigators say Lewis fled from the scene.

"He was on the scene at the time, he was driving the vehicle that Ms. Mims was in. We know that they both got out of the car because there were some passerbys that came along after she fell out of the car, and he was attending to her when the passerbys got there he got into his car and left," said Steve Turner, Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The Georgia State Patrol Accident Reconstruction Team plans to at the scene of the accident this week to find out what exactly occurred. GBI says once that takes place it will help answer the question of whether the incident was an accident or intentional.
