Crawfordville Woman Killed in Fall From Horse

A spokesman with the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office says 48 year old Whitney Suzanne Stewart died from injuries she suffered after falling from her horse.

A WCSO Spokesman says a neighbor saw a saddled horse roaming free in his front yard on March 14 and found Stewart's body not far away.

There are flowers and a pinwheel marking the spot on Garner Circle East in Crawfordville.

Neighbors tell us Stewart did not live there, but kept her horse nearby and often rode in the neighborhood.

An on line obituary indicates Stewart was riding her horse Ace, at the time.

The obituary posted by Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home says Stewart was a wife, mother and retired state worker who was active with the Wakulla Horseman's Association and the Southern Trail Riders.
