Tallahassee, Florida - July 18, 2012

Between January and June of 2012, Loss Prevention Officers from the Target Store located at 3700 Bradfordville Road reported several incidents where a female with a small child would fill a shopping cart with items and then walk past all points of sale and exit the store without paying for the merchandise.

In June, the Tallahassee Police Department investigated two similar incidents at the Target Store located at 2120 Apalachee Parkway. During the course of the ensuing investigations, detectives and investigators identified Christie A. Wildes, 33 as the suspect in these incidents.

On July 18, 2012, detectives from LCSO’s Crimes against Property Unit made contact with Wildes at her residence located at 2756 Teton Trail. As detectives spoke with Wildes, she indicated her involvement in this series of incidents and informed the detectives that some of the stolen property was in her home and in a shed behind her home. Detectives seized more than 100 items known to be stolen in these incidents.

Wildes was arrested and taken to the Leon County Jail.
