Thomasville, GA - Have you ever thought about a career in Law Enforcement? Some local youth are getting a glimpse of what it's like.

All week the Thomasville Police Department is hosting its Junior Law Enforcement Academy. Agencies like the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Bomb Disposal Unit that was there today teaching the kids the importance of not playing with explosives.

"They get to experience different parts of law enforcement besides just the average police officer you see on the street. We have people coming from the U.S. Marshals, the GBI, Moody Air Force Base Security Squadron, SWAT Team, all the specialized units that you may not get to see everyday," said Matthew Griffin, Thomasville Police School Resource Officer.

29 students signed up this year and that's the most yet. It's too late to sign your child up this year, but be on the lookout for flyers from the Thomasville Police Department for next July.
