The state Legislature will begin its annual 60-day session Tuesday, amid revenue shortfalls totaling more than 2 billion dollars for the current and next fiscal years.
The state's money situation is expected to bleed into nearly
every debate in the Legislature, including big costs like health
care and education.
Governor Charlie Crist wants to avoid some of the tough cuts by
digging into some reserves and bringing in more gambling revenues.
