A strong cold front will move across the region Friday night and into Saturday morning, bringing strong winds to the entire area, but more pronounced along coastal areas. A gale warning is in effect for the gulf coastal waters through Saturday morning. Winds are forecast to increase from the west and then northwest overnight into Saturday morning at speeds of 25-30 kts, with gusts to 40 kts. This could lead to some coastal flooding, especially along the Taylor and Dixie County coasts at times of high tide, which occurs at Steinhatchee at 2:14 am, and then again at 2:34 pm Saturday. Minor coastal flooding is possible at these times, with maximum potential tides up to 3 to 5 feet above mean low water levels.
