Compensating the Wrongly Convicted

For the second week in a row, a legislative committee has endorsed the idea of paying exonerated inmates a flat sum for each year the needlessly spent in prison.

Al Crotzer was in jail more than twenty five years before DNA proved him innocent.

The legislation moving forward would give the wrongly convicted fifty thousand dollars for each year they spent behind bars plus a college education at a Florida school.
