Drivers in northeast Tallahassee now have a new road to travel down.
The new segment of Welaunee Boulevard, between Buford Boulevard and Fleischmann Road, recently opened to traffic. The $9.9 million project was built in two phases.
Some minor work remains, but for the most part the project is nearly finished.
The four-lane divided highway has sidewalks, bicycle lanes, curbs and storm water controls, not to mention extensive landscaping.
The city project includes over 600 trees and 2,000 shrubs.
