Georgia has joined 13 other states holding February fifth presidential primaries in what is shaping up to be a national primary day.
Governor Perdue signed a bill Wednesday moving the 2008
presidential preference primary up a month from March fourth.
If all pending legislation passes, close to 40 states will hold
their 2008 primaries by the end of February.
Last week, Florida moved its primary to January 29th,
leapfrogging several others and putting the state behind only the
Iowa and Nevada caucuses and the New Hampshire primary.
