GDOT Announces Temporary Closure Of Rest Area #5 On I-75 In Cook County

COOK COUNTY, GA. – Contractors for the Georgia DOT have tentatively scheduled a temporary closure of Rest Area #5 on I-75 northbound at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, weather permitting.
Rest area #5 is located on I-75 northbound just north of Exit 45/Barneyville Rd./C.R. 253 in Cook County. This closure will last for approximately 8 months.

The rest areas located on I-75 south in Cook County and I-75 north and south in Lowndes and Turner counties will remain open.
Georgia DOT urges travelers to call 511 for updated information about this or any other construction project on interstates and state routes. Georgia 511 is a free phone service that provides real-time traffic and travel information statewide, such as traffic conditions, incidents, lane closures, and delays due to inclement weather.
