According to Kristen Vocelle Barstow, the owner of Vocelles Bridal Shoppe in Tallahassee, Florida, floral details are in big time this season. From small and dainty flower details to bold and in-your-face flowers that are the center of the dress design, all the designers are incorporating flowers into the spring 2010 lines.
Wedding dresses have also become even more romantic this season. Barstow says harsh lines and sharp looks are a thing of the past and have been replaced with very feminine, soft and airy designs.
"Feathers are also HOT right now," according to Barstow. "A super simple dress can easily be glamed up with fun accessories, and feathers have become a huge accessory trend. We're even seeing feathers on dresses themselves."
However, Barstow says the most important thing to remember when shopping for a dress is to go with a dress that fits your personality.
"You want to feel like yourself on your wedding day -- yourself only better," she said.
Barstow reminds women to "wear what you LOVE on your wedding day, regardless of the location of the ceremony."
She says if you're having a simple beach wedding but don't want to wear a simple wedding dress, don't worry. Wear the full ball gown if you want. This is your day and you want to be more excited to put on your wedding dress than you have been to put on any other dress before.
