The search continues for unmarked slave graves in Thomas County.
Allegations arose a few months ago that Summerhill Baptist Church was building a basketball court on top of old slave graves.
Cadaver dogs searched the area at the end of July, and alerted to several spots. Now an archeologist has been called in to search the site even more.
Joe Craigmiles, son of a confederate soldier, says he'd liked to see this issue resolved.
"I want to put an end to it, I want it put back like it was and I think there needs to be a monument put there signifying what is under the ground."
The pastor says the project has been put on hold, pending the outcome of the investigation.
